BeAvoice Today Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located in Southern Prince George's County in Fort Washington, Maryland. BeAvoice Today assists women 18 years and older who have struggled with hardships that altered their lives, relationships, jobs and education. BeAvoice Today brings women together in a safe space for one year to participate in life, business and vocational trainings through our Renewal Program. Once enrolled in our program, each woman will also have access to F.R.E.S.H, our toiletry pantry, and The Green Chair, our thrift shop. We envision a community where every woman reaches her full potential through achieving personal empowerment and financial self-sufficiency. The result: stronger women, stronger families, and stronger communities.

THE NEED

 BeAvoice Today is a program that is in direct response to the growing number of women that are struggling with hardships that have altered their lives, relationships, family, career and education. BeAvoice Today offers women the opportunity to make dramatic changes in their lives through life-changing programs and trainings. BeAvoice Today is positioned to be most assessable to women who otherwise would become repeat offenders of the criminal system, homeless, or disrupted from family or society.

WHO DO WE HELP?

• Women who are returning to the community from incarceration represent an epidemic in the market. Successful re-entry into society for women is vital to the rebuilding of families and communities.

• Women reentering into the work field from an interruption of employment. Recovering from unemployment is vital to the economic status of households and families. The ability to compete in the workforce solely depends on education and career planning.

• Women starting over from homelessness and seeking vocational and life skills need a rebirthing from losing stability in order to thrive in life. Engagement on every level from life skills, to strengthening their economic position, to support services is pivotal to effectively rebirthing their lives.

BeAvoice Today is located in Fort Washington, Maryland. Our current headquarters is approximately 1,500 sq. ft. and consists of an office, classrooms, a toiletry pantry and a thrift shop.
